What We Do

Union County Housing Authority

The Union County Housing Authority (UCHA) is a small rural housing authority located in the “heartland” of central Pennsylvania. Its mission is to provide safe, decent, sanitary, affordable housing to income eligible residents and to provide related community services within Union County.

The Union County Housing Authority offers a comprehensive program of services including elderly housing development and management, family housing management, homeowner rehabilitation, and others. The funding for these programs comes from the federal and state governments and from service fees. No direct county taxes are received for housing programs.

Who We Are

Helping the Community One at a Time.

With a five-member, voluntary board of directors, an annual budget of over two million dollars, and 10 full-time and 6 part-time staff, the UCHA has been recognized on the national and state levels for its innovative programs for Codes and Sewage Enforcement and development of a county-wide Community Services Center housed in a previously underutilized industrial building. Using various funding sources, the UCHA has also facilitated the renovation of over 1,100 homes in the county; avoiding blight and maintaining ownership.
